I have been in your shoes—feeling uncertain about what the next chapter of my career would look like after staying at home for more than 10 years to raise my daughters. I was feeling overwhelmed about where to start.
Do I polish up my resume, LinkedIn page and attend networking events? Did I even want to go back to the career that I left? Do I go back to school to get my MBA? Do I just go get a job in retail and work my way up to manager? Should I start a new business or buy one?
All of these questions were swirling in my head, and during my free time I would research different ways to "make money online". What a rabbit hole that is!
I kept looking for opportunities that would allow me flexibility, so I could still be available for my girls. I also wanted unlimited earning potential.
Going back to the 9-to-5, I knew I'd be starting over. Even as I considered getting an MBA, there was no guarantee of earning even half what I had during my successful career, not to mention the hours and thousands of dollars I'd have to invest. Climbing the corporate ladder wasn't looking like a great option.
